Maxwell “Mike” Ray Barnes , 52,  of Lovell, WY, passed away, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the University of Colorado Hospital from a genetic disorder known as Alpha one Anti-trypsum deficiency that, over time, caused him cirrhosis of the liver.

He was born October 5,1960 to Patricia Asay and Maxwell Barnes in Greenville, Alabama. On October 5,1984 he married his lovely wife, Joanie Baldwin Barnes.

Mike is survived by his wife Joanie Barnes of 28 years, son Michael (Mary) Barnes, daughter Reanan (David Miler) Barnes,  daughter Janel Barnes, brother Tim Baum, sister Rebecca (Melissa Dills) Flint, sister Lena (Alden)  Allen, grandson KeyTon Miler, grandson Christian Barnes, and granddaughter Cadence Barnes. He was preceded in death by him mom Patricia Asay, mother in law LeVerna James, and father in law Everett Baldwin.

Mike loved pipe line construction and worked for Totem Construction company for 20+ years as an equipment operator and job supervisor. Totem Construction Company was not just a job but a second family to him for many years. Mike excelled in his field of work and became a well known name and well respected by all in the business. His name made the construction bible that consist of  only top rated personal of the construction world.

Mike had a love of the outdoors that he shared with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed most sports especially football. Mike was a great man who was always willing to lend a hand when ever possible. He will be greatly missed.

A viewing will be held at Haskell’s Funeral Home Thursday April 25, 2013 from 7-9pm and funeral services will be held at the LDS church in Lovell, WY on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 2:00pm. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery.

mike was a wonderfull man with a big heart he would give u the shirt off his back not only was he a good husband to my sister and a good father he was a great brother in law im gonna miss you alot

Joanie, So very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your Family. Mike was a good Husband and Father, and i will personally remember the rest of my life the Lessons he taught me about Wyomings Great outdoors. God Bless in this time of great sorrow...
