Dorothy M. Bush, 77,  died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at New Horizons Care Center.  She will be greatly missed.

Dorothy was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on August 4, 1936, the daughter of Cy and Bessie Lape and the youngest of 3 children.  She married Harvey Bush on December 30, 1961, who preceded her in death in 1984.  Of this marriage five children were born.

Dorothy attended high school in St. Paul, MN and earned her degree in Education from St. Catherine’s University in 1959.  She then moved Lovell to teach Spanish and English at the middle school.  She took a break from teaching to raise five children, working as a substitute teacher when needed.  She then went back to full-time teaching English at Lovell High in 1983.

Dorothy was active in the community as a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Red Hat Society, and Lovell Women’s Club.  Dorothy was a huge baseball fan, especially of the Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees.  She enjoyed travel and went to NYC twice.

Dorothy is survived by her children Angela (Greg) Andersen of Colorado Springs, CO, Paul Bush of Lovell, Dan (Sandy) Bush of Lovell, Mariann (Gregg) Jackson of Hudson, WI and John (Nancy) Bush of Phoenix, AZ, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann Corbey and brother John Lape, both of St. Paul, MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Cy and Bessie Lape and her spouse, Harvey Bush.

Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic church Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will take place in the Lovell Cemetery, where she will be buried next to her husband.

I'm sorry for your great loss. It was a pleasure when I got to meet Mrs. Bush and speak with her. Sorry if my grammar is incorrect :)
