Charles Wilbur Brown passed away at the age of 64 in Billings, Mt on January 9th 2015.

Charlie was born February 1st, 1950 in Lovell Wyoming to Gerald W. and Beulah Asay Brown. He was the seventh of eight siblings. He grew up in the home of his Aunt Ellen and Uncle Harry Cook through his high school years after the tragic loss of his parents and oldest sister Nadine.

Charlie graduated from Lovell High School in 1969. He joined the US navy but was soon honorably discharged because of impaired hearing. He then headed to South Carolina to see his brother Gerry for the summer. After returning to Lovell he started working at great western sugar factory.  After that, he went on to work at Nickels and Lewis; Ending with Lovell Redi-mix in 2008. Charlie was always a hard worker. He always put 100% into every job.

Charlie was working in Worland, Wy. when he met and married Yvonne Holdren on July 17, 1970; And to this union was born Tamara Ann. Charlie and Yvonne later divorced. 5 years went by when he met Dora Mae Awalt. They soon married in 1982.  With that union came two children, Rebekah Jo and Travis Lynn, whom he later adopted.  In the year 1983, their fourth child was born, Tonya Marie. The family was sealed for time and all eternity at the Idaho Falls Temple. Their love for children went further than their own. Charlie and Dora opened there home to foster children and children in need. Danny Frederick, was one foster that came into their home welcomed with open arms and he became part of the family.  Charlie lost the love of his life, Dora, in a tragic car accident in 1986. He went on to raise all the children on his own.

Charlie’s interests included anything outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and going into Moss Ranch. He would always have a joke to tell to anyone who needed a laugh. His favorite hobby was photography. He took photos of everyone.  Where ever there was beautiful scenery, he made sure to capture it. He even took picture of work sites. He was a man of many nicknames. We knew him as dad and Papa Charlie. Friends called him Fat Cat, Certified, and Otis. Charlie was so gracious and humble. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his children Tammy (Travis) Adey of Lovell, Wy., Travis (Kathy) Brown of Billings, Mt.,  Rebekah McCuen of Billings Mt.,  Tonya (Chris) Fink of Missoula, Mt., and Danny (Ronda) Frederick of Worland, Wy., 17 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.  Siblings Linda, Dorothy, Carol, and Gerry.
