Shirley Ann Lewis Busteed, 87, wife, mother and grandmother, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell.

Shirley was born on Dec. 1, 1928, to Roland Rudger Lewis and Bertha Mortensen Lewis in Cowley. After graduating from Cowley High School, Shirley attended the University of Wyoming and majored in business.

Shirley met and married Richard Wardell Busteed August 5, 1949. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 30, 1992.

She is survived by her daughters Becky Rae (Ralph) Knippel, Eva (Morgan) Sayes, Karen (Randall) Peterson and Lynne (Kevin) Hall, son Richard Lewis (Diane) Busteed, sister Mary (Waldo) Jensen, brother Paul Lewis, 18 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.

Shirley began serving as the Town Clerk for the Town of Cowley in 1965. She served as Town Clerk until she retired in 2004. She loved working with the people in her community and counted everyone as her friend.

Shirley was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many positions.

Services will be held in the Cowley LDS church Wednesday, April 6, at 10 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Burial services will follow at the Cowley Cemetery.

Thank you, Aunt Shirley, for all the goodness and charity you brought to the world, and for the wonderful children you raised. You were a wonderful aunt and friend to my wife Karen and always treated me with kindness.

Sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed visiting with your mother. She was sincerely interested in what was new in my life. When queried about her family - a big smile would emerge and with immense pride she would tell me about all of you.... I will always remember those great smiles and conversations.... Your parents were wonderful people......
