Eva LaRue Durfee Beddes was born on September 2, 1922 in Lovell, Wyoming, the 6th child of Rilda Norton and Charles Abbott Durfee.  She passed away peacefully at The Inn on Barton Creek Assisted Living Center in Bountiful, UT on July 11, 2016.  She was 93 years young.

Eva grew up in Lovell on a farm, and learned how to work hard.  They worked together as a family, and had an amazing garden. That was important to her throughout the rest of her life.  Their family also loved to go camping in the Pryor Mountains, and did that as often as they could.

There was a short period of time when Eva's dad moved the family to Delta, Ut.  Her baby sister, Afton, was born there.  Eva said that when her daddy came home and told her that she had a new baby sister, she was so excited!  She really thought it was just her baby, and wanted it right now.  That must have started her life long love of babies and children!  Even in her older years, if there were children or babies around, she was in her element.

She met and married Franklin Beddes on July 18, 1940.  That marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  They weren't able to have children, so they loved and doted on their nieces and nephews.  They were so grateful that others would share their children with them. Without children, they had lots of time for other things. They were members of the Lovell Boat Club, and quite enjoyed their time with friends and family that way.  Eva also worked at the hospital as a nurses aide, and loved all the babies she came in contact with.

After 20 years of marriage, they were made aware that they could adopt through the Wyoming Children's Home Society in Cheyenne.  They got their long awaited wish of being parents in November  1960 when their son Randall F. Beddes was born.  In February  of 1964, Eva got her baby girl!  Margo came to join the family!  They always told their children that they were adopted, and it was a very special thing.  They got to special order their children out of the Sears and Roebuck catalog.  Everyone else just had to take what they got!!! Eva's children were her pride and joy!  Frank and Eva attended every event, whether it was choir, band, or sports, that their children were involved in.

Eva was a faithful, life long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She held many callings in the church.  Her favorite calling was in the Primary.  She and Frank also served as workers in the Idaho Falls Temple for a number of years.

After Frank's death in September of 1999, Eva decided she wanted to travel.  She went to the Pasadena Rose Parade, Nauvoo, and on a Church History Tour to New York.  She also would travel to Utah to spend the winters with her children and their families.

After a broken hip in 2013, she moved to Centerville, UT where she could be closer to her family and they could help her.  In 2015, she was able to move in to The Inn on Barton Creek Assisted Living Facility where she lived until her passing.  She loved the residents and those who served her there.  She loved Balloon Volleyball, Van Rides, Crafts and warm cookies out of the oven at 3 pm every day!

She is survived by her son, Randy (Nova Lea), her daughter, Margo (Mike), 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; her sister, Afton Cahill, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, siblings,. Wanda, Edna, Twila, Weldon & Arden.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday July 16, 2016 at the Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell, Wyoming. Interment was in the Lovell City Cemetery next to her husband, Frank.

Special thanks to all who loved  & served Eva at Barton Creek.  Also special thanks to Ashley, Eva's Nurse from South Davis Hospice for her love and friendship.
