On Dec. 25, 2018, Sally Ann George Wilson, loving mother, grandmother and friend, died peacefully in her sleep at her home in Cowley.

Sally was born Jan. 4, 1944, in Casper to Theadore Vogeler and Ione Boxrud Vogeler. Ione later married Gail George and he adopted Sally and her sister Berniece, becoming their beloved dad.
She grew up and attended school in Cowley, graduating in 1962. She married Boyd Wilson in 1962. Born to this union were Cheryl, Scott and Michael. The couple later divorced.

Sally had a deep, profound work ethic, sometimes working two jobs and 16-18-hour days to provide for her family. She worked in the service industry and kept books for different businesses for more than 50 years.

She loved to bake and canned from her garden every year. Many people have been the recipients of her famous pies and cookies. She also loved to make baby blankets and to tend to her house plants. Over the last several years she became very involved in Town of Cowley, serving on many committees. Her most loved group was the Beautification Committee, more affectionately known as the “flower ladies.” She could be seen on many days planting or watering flowers, weeding flower beds or driving her much-loved Jaguar golf cart around town. Her own yard was always meticulously groomed. If there was a weed to be found, Sally found and destroyed it.

Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Being called “Grandma-great” always brought a smile to her face.

Sally was preceded in death by her mother Ione George, father Gail George and sister Berniece Cribbs.

She is survived by her daughter Cheryl (Bruce) Jolley of Lovell, sons Scott and Michael (Sandy) Wilson of Cowley and special daughter Wanda (Dave) Midthun of Cody; grandchildren Brandon (Stephanie) Jolley, Brock (Allie) Jolley,  Shanna Jolley, Toree (Steven) Jenkins, Miranda (Jake) Wolff, Samantha Hernandez Mickelson, Jessee Wilson, Kallee Jo Wilson, Travis (Leslie) Midthun, Shelby Midthun and great-grandchildren Chevelle, Cove, Zander, Zaydee, Mayc’lynn and Ryker Jolley, Serenity, KaLynn, Caison and Jaida Mickelson and Russell and Lydia Midthun.

Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at the Cowley LDS Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Beautification Committee, care of the Town of Cowley.

To the Family, so sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that Sally has the prospect of being resurrected, healthy (in the flesh), to Paradise Earth just as Jehovah God has promised. In fact , the vast majority will enjoy everlasting life right here on earth as God had intended from the beginning. God's Kingdom will do this under the rule of Jesus Christ. To the Family,
I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. Losing my parent has been difficult for me.
However, I found this scripture helpful. It is what Jesus said at John5:28,29: “28Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,29And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;”
Hopefully thinking about what these verses state can help your family during this time as it has for me.
