Betty Jo Miller , also known as B.J. Miller , passed away peacefully at the New Horizons Care Center , Lovell Wy., September 14th, 2019, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Vede Putney and Ruby Lawrence. Her two sisters Lois Putney Doak and Dois Putney.

Betty Jo was born , Betty Jo Putney , on October 24th, 1936, in Hotsprings County , Thermopolis , Wy. Where her father herd sheep and her mother stayed home caring for the children. Betty Jo lost her mother at the age of two and attended several boarding schools. She later attended Casper College for nursing and graduated in 1969. B.J. Worked at several different hospitals and nursing homes in Wyoming .

Betty Jo , married Joseph Francis Miller Sr. they were married 27 years before divorcing born of this marriage were three children , Lois Marie Miller/ Martin, Joseph F. Miller Jr. and Vede Jacob Miller.

Betty Jo enjoyed her family time especially on holiday and birthday celebrations . She really enjoyed reading, coffee with Hazelnut creamer ,smoking her cigarettes, travels and let’s not forget eating at her favorite places Red Lobster and Olive Garden . One of her loves was helping youth , caring for runaways and kids that needed extra love and attention that they couldn’t find at times in their current situations or even just a place to sleep for a night or two. She also loved animals her dogs were very important to her.

Betty Jo Miller was survived by her daughter Lois Marie Miller/ Martin , her two sons Joe Miller and Jake Miller and wife Kristin. Her grandchildren Heidi Brost /Bohn,Hilary Simmons / Jurney, Jade Martin, Angela Miller/ Campbell, Rhian Miller , Trenton Miller, and Kobee Miller. 14 Great grand kids and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and since Betty Jo Miller, didn’t want a service but, a  gathering of her family and friends eating together . There will be a carry in dinner for her family and friends on October 12th, 2019 , Saturday , at 2pm at the Community Hall behind the Community Federated Methodist 244 North 6th street Thermopolis , Wy 6th street and Bighorn.
