Loretta Jane (Harrison) Tippetts

Loretta Jane (Harrison) Tippetts was born on January 23, 1937, the oldest child of Herrick and Rose Harrison.  She died peacefully on April 10, 2024, at the age of 87.

Loretta loved being near her family and happily lived in Lovell her whole life.  She married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry G. Tippetts on May 31, 1958.  She worked in Banking for 37 years.

Loretta and Jerry went on many adventures.  They loved going to the mountain and spending time in their cabin and going on rides looking for wildlife.  They volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels for many years.  They were part of the Pryor Mountain watch group and spent many hours patrolling the Pryors and checking on the wild horses.

Loretta loved working in her yard and planting flowers.  She loved going out in the hills and looking for rocks.  She talked Jerry into packing a lot of rocks home, therefore she had a lot of rock beds.

Loretta and Jerry purchased her grandpa and grandma Harrison’s homestead south of Lovell.  They spent many hours restoring the house and working in the yard.  She always said that the SkyBow was her safe, happy place.

Family was Loretta’s greatest pleasure.  Her happiest days were spent with her family.  She was greatly loved by many who called her Grandma Grizz.  She will be greatly missed.  She had a quick wit, a very big heart and she touched many lives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, daughter Amy Jo, grandson Joshua, parents, and brother Dick. 

She is survived by daughters, Shelly (Britt) Lohof and Cherie Trautman, grandsons Casey (Shonna) Trautman and Jacob (Kelsey) Lohof, granddaughters Cori (Allen) Thompson, Crystal Lohof and Codee (Grant) Geiser, great grandchildren Joshua, Carsyn, Ryder, Bentley, Jovie, Brax, Coleman and Walker, brother Bud (Kathy) Harrison, sisters Alice (John) Card, JoAnn (Allen) Knopp, Jean (Jerry) Dusenberry and Jewel (Dan) Shatto and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 9:00 on April 17th at St. John’s Lutheran church with services following at 10:00.  Interment will be at the Lovell Cemetery.
