Arlo Averett Obituary

Arlo James Averett, aged 24, passed away suddenly early Sunday morning, October 29th. He was born on March 17, 1999, in Powell, Wyoming to James and Kelly Averett of Greybull, Wyoming.

Arlo lived in Greybull his entire life and enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, Shooting, hiking and camping. His lifelong dream was to join the military, however that was not to be. He was noticed by Clayton Dragoo who took him under his wing and trained him as a funeral director. Clayton also knew Arlo had a passion for helping others and helped him train to become an EMT. Eventually he began working for McGarvin-Moberly doing construction.

In January of 2021 he met the love of his life, Ashley Mayer, also of Greybull, and together they brought a beautiful daughter Harlow Lynn Augustine Averett into the world on January 13, 2023. Harlow was the greatest gift of his life.

He is survived by his daughter Harlow, girlfriend Ashley Mayer, his parents James and Kelly Averett, sisters Kalynn Patton of Casper, Wyoming and Jamie Averett of Greybull, a niece and two nephews, his maternal grandparents Jim and Laurel Ryles of Greybull, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, multiple cousins, and his lifelong best friend Jake Harold.

He and Jake spent many fun-filled hours together hunting, fishing and doing all the things boys do when they're just enjoying life.

Arlo was such a joy to be around and will be missed by so many who remember his ready smile, kind nature and the silly stories he would tell.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, November 9th at 2:00 pm at Grace Fellowship Church in Greybull.
