Carlotta "Carla" Maye (Reede) Edwards

Carlotta Maye Reede Edwards, 69, passed away peacefully Monday, October 5th, 2020 at her home in Columbus, MT.

Carla was born on June 12, 1951 in Dupree, SD, daughter of Ralph and Zelpha Reede. She attended school in Lantry, SD and later in Dupree. She graduated from Dupree in 1969 and went on to marry the love of her life, Lloyd Edwards on June 7, 1970. Together they raised 4 children, Troy, Traci, Chris, and Brian.

Lloyd and Carla spent time in Dupree and Spearfish, SD, Billings, MT, and Broken Bow, NE before settling in Lovell, WY where Carla bought and operated Edwards Air Filter Cleaning Business with Lloyd until she was no longer able to. Lloyd and Carla built their dream house in Billings, MT where they lived until he passed away in 2009. She spent the rest of her years in Columbus, MT with Ron and Traci and their 3 children.

In their early years, Lloyd and Carla enjoyed many fishing and camping trips with their children. Spending time in the mountains was a favorite for them and where their boys learned to love fishing.

Carla loved visiting her children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed watching their many activities. She spent many hours in bleachers at sporting events, watching dance recitals, and choir and music concerts. Every minute with a beautiful smile on her face.

Another passion of Carlas was sewing and quilting. She learned how to quilt with some very special friends. She made quilts for her kids and grandkids, along with some award winning ones at quilt shows!

Carla was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998 with a smile on her face and thats how she looked at MS the rest of her life. She was very determined not to let MS define her. She took every new obstacle with grace, determination, and dignity. She was a true inspiration to everyone who met her and spent time with her on this journey.

Carla was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, her father, Ralph Reede, her brother Glenn Reede, her sister, Trudy Reede, brothers-in-law Wayne Edwards, Leonard Edwards and his wife Velda, and sister-in-law Pat and her husband Leo Bakeberg.

She is survived by her children Troy Edwards of Powell, WY, Traci and Ron Osborne, Columbus, MT and their children Mikala, Kade (Shayna), and Tanner; Chris and Ramie Edwards, Lovell, WY and their children Grace, Emma, Lilyan, Owen, Ava, and Vivian; and Brian and Jessica Edwards, Saratoga Springs, UT and their children Kellan, Megan, Paige, and Lucas; mother Zelpha Reede, brothers Allen (Jean) Reede and Larry (Mary) Reede, and sister Kathy Lemke, brother-in-law Jim (Sherry) Edwards, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

Memorial services will be held at the Lovell Community Center on Saturday, October 17th at 2:00 pm, followed by dedication of the grave at the Lovell Cemetery. Dinner will be provided by the LDS 2nd Ward immediately following. Please come, eat, drink, and share memories of our beloved mother.
