Carol Elaine (Brown) Stewart was born February 21, 1954, in Cody, Wyoming to parents Gerald Brown and Buelah (Asay) Brown. Carol was the eighth born so she was very much loved and very spoiled by all. She spent the first 3 years of her life on the farm in Cody. She loved the animals, especially the turkeys. She always wanted to help when it was time to feed them and made sure she was there.
The family moved to Byron in 1957 and she met her Grandma Essie (Sessions) (Asay) Burge and Grandpa George Burge. More people to adore and spoil her!
January of 1960 the family was in a tragic car accident returning from visiting relatives and friends in Cody. Her parents and a sister, Nadine, were taken from the family. Carol suffered multiple injuries and spent quite some time in the hospital. After being dismissal from the hospital she went to live with her oldest sister Beverly in Lovell. Attending Lovell Elementary School. Carol later moved to live with her Aunt Ellen and Uncle Harry Cook and her two brothers Gerry and Charlie. She attended Lovell schools until moving to Basin with her sister Dorothy and family. In the summertime of 1970, the family moved to North Dakota where Carol attended Neche, ND High, graduating with the class of 1973. After graduating Carol worked at Bathgate Nursing Home in ND. She loved the elderly patients, and they loved her.
Carol eventually returned to Wyoming where she met her sweetheart and childhood friend Frank Stewart. After getting reacquainted they were married in 1978 in Cody, Wyoming. They made their home in Lovell where they still lived till the time of her death.
February 1979 Carol and Frank were blessed with their first son Aaron. In 1982 they were blessed with a second son Ryan and a third son Justin in 1984. Justin was premature and at the young age of 10 months he went to his eternal home. His death was a major and lasting heartbreak for the family. Carol’s health started going downhill at this time and medical issues began. She suffered many setbacks over the years and ended up passing away at North Big Horn Hospital, Lovell, Wyoming June 10, 2023, with her loving family by her side.
Carol was a very loving person, a great cook and would do anything to help others. Carol loved children and children loved her.
Carol is survived by husband Frank of 45 years, sons Aaron (Kasie) Greybull, Ryan of Byron. Five grandchildren, Justin and Korbin Stewart and Ethan Goton of Greybull, Kaylee Stewart of Lovell, Chareasa Zeller of Byron. Sisters Dorothy (Leslie) Allen of Burlington, Linda (Rick) Salmon of Lovell. 16 nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceding Carol in death her son Justin, parents, two sisters and two brothers. One sister-in-law and one brother-in-law.
Carol was loved by many and will be remembered by all.
Services for Carol will be held Friday June 16, 2023, at 2 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lovell, Wyoming. Interment will follow in Byron, Wyoming.
