Frank Stewart, 67, passed away at his home in Lovell, Wyoming, on May 4, 2025. He was born on April 15, 1958, in Cortez, Colorado, to J.T. and Maxine Stewart. Frank spent his early childhood in Colorado before moving with his family to Deaver and later to Powell, Wyoming, where he attended school. In Powell, he earned his course certificate in speed reading.
A pivotal moment in Frank's life came during the summer between his 11th and 12th grades, while visiting family in Amarillo, Texas. Frank was tragically shot in the head, but his determination to survive shone through. He defied the odds, relearning to read, write, and walk. Frank was always someone who never gave up.
In October 1978, Frank married his lifelong partner, Carol Elaine (Brown) Stewart. Frank and Carol shared 45 years of marriage marked by love, commitment, and resilience. Together, they raised three sons: Aaron, Ryan, and Justin. Tragically, their youngest son, Justin, passed away at just 10 months old, a heartbreak that would leave a lasting impact on the family.
Frank was a dedicated worker, initially employed at American Colloid and later at Nickles/Lewis. In his later years, he remained active doing handyman work, especially in mechanics and yard care—always ready to lend a helping hand.
Frank had a gift for working with his hands. He enjoyed fiberglass work, auto mechanics, and wood carpentry, and often used those skills to help family, friends, and neighbors. He was a devoted husband, a steady and loving father, and a proud grandfather. His grandchildren adored him, and his quiet generosity and strong presence touched many lives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Elaine Stewart; his youngest son, Justin Todd Stewart; and his parents, J.T. and Maxine Stewart.
Frank is survived by his sons Aaron (Kasie) of Greybull, Ryan of Byron; five grandchildren—Ethan Goton and Korbin Stewart of Greybull, Justin of Lovell, Kaylee Stewart of Powell, and Chareasa Zeller of Powell; sixteen nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A service to honor Frank will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lovell, Wyoming. Interment will follow in Byron, Wyoming.
Frank will be remembered for his steady hands, quiet strength, and unwavering willingness to help others. His legacy of resilience, love, and service will continue to inspire all who knew him.
