Obituary

David Iversen, 72, passed away peacefully in his sleep with his daughter by his side on July 19, 2023 at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell, WY.

Dave was born February 1, 1951 in Minneapolis, MN to Delmond & Jessie Iversen. He was the oldest of five children. As a teenager he enjoyed surfing and drawing. He attended Bismarck Junior College for two years pursuing a degree in art. He lived in southern California where he excelled as a carpenter. In 1978 he and his second wife, Mary, welcomed his only child, Angie. Dave was a very laid back, quiet man who never had anything bad to say about anyone. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and animals. Around 1990 he relocated back to Bismarck, ND to be near his parents and sisters. He worked as the manager of a janitorial service for many years before his career was ended due to a brain aneurysm in 2000. A few years later he suffered a stroke that left him partially paralyzed but didn’t dampen his spirit or belief that he was never going to die. In 2007 he moved to Lovell, WY with his daughter and her family. He took all his medical issues with a grain of salt, never complaining. He lived a quiet life in Lovell with his precious cats, Pepper & Puff.

Dave will always be remembered for his friendly, laid back personality, his love of animals, his artistic ability in drawing and his signature long brown hair that he refused to cut.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmond (2007) & Jessie Iversen (1996), and his beloved cat, Pepper.

Dave is survived by his daughter, Angie Morley; granddaughter, Celeste Morley; great grandchildren, Adelaide and Forest; brother, Paul Iversen; sisters, Jan (Merlin) Bohn; Joanne (Don) Glaser; Shirley (Floyd) Wilson; many nieces, nephews and extended family, and his beloved cat, Puff.

In the words of his granddaughter and great granddaughter, “He’s walking, running, and swimming with his long flowing hair and bandana.” He’s no doubt wearing his favorite bell bottom jeans and smoking a Marlboro.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be planned for the future.
