Denise (Ward) Paris

Our dear mother, Denise Paris passed away in her home, surrounded by loved ones, on July 22, 2023, at the age of 76. She was born Jan. 16, 1947, to JD and Marie Ward. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. 

She married the love of her life, her late husband, Wayne Paris on May 22, 1965. They had four children, Jamie, Robyn, Tim and Kristi. They created Paris Construction together. Denise made the business successful as the manager who completed all the bookkeeping by hand and ensured orders and projects were accomplished. She was a super mom. She cared for her children and ensured they made it to every sport or school event. Denise was heavily involved in all the extracurricular activities her children participated in.

Denise and Wayne lived in their home on the Heights for over 50 years together. Mom loved her yard and took impeccable care of it. When she was no longer able to care for it, she took on a supervisory role from her deck.  Many of you may or may not know, but mom also maintained an orphanage for teddy bears. All were welcome. 

Denise is survived by her children Jamie (Stephen) Wamhoff, Robyn (Rob) Guty, Tim (Jamie) Paris and Kristi (Jayson) Harvey; her grandchildren (who all called her Meme) Derik Henderson, Dusti (Jared) Mowery, Jacob Paris, Stevi Wamhoff, Wyatt Guty, Jessi Wamhoff (Santiago), Logan Paris, Colter Guty, McKenzy Paris and Jackqueline Harvey; her great-grandchildren Mataja Mowery, Mataia Henderson, Makinli Mowery and Myles Paris-Fitzpatrick and great-great-granddaughter Nova Hilborn.

Denise is proceeded in death by her husband Wayne, her parents JD and Marie Ward and her sister Dorthy and husband Dave Bernard.

Service will be held at the Grace Fellowship Church Saturday July 29, 2023, at 1 p.m.
