Donna Irene Beal

Donna Irene Beal, 94, of Lovell Wyoming, passed away on Monday December 30th from complications due to pneumonia at Desert Valley Hospital in Victorville, CA.

Donna was born on July 27, 1930, to Rodrick Leo and Marvel Lookhart in Cowley, Wyoming. Donna attended Big Horn Academy in Cowley, Wy. While in her senior year, Donna attended a science fair where she met Charles Beal. Charles thought Donna had the most beautiful long black hair and on the 16th of March 1949 they were married in Billings, Montana. Donna and Charles went on to have 5 children: Charles (Bill), Roger (Tim), Dusty, Daniel, and Onita.

Her first job was as a switchboard operator for Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator and she worked there happily until the company switched to dialup in the mid 1950’s. She then went to work for the city of Lovell as a fire and police dispatcher for over 30 years, leading to her eventual retirement in 1994.

Donna lived her whole life in Wyoming. In her final months she moved to California constantly longing to be back home in Wyoming. Donna loved animals. She was very fond of her dogs as well as her horses over the years. She was very creative and made many things with her hands such as Christmas ornaments, paintings, and clothing. Donna loved Wyoming too. Donna loved her family dearly. To her grandchildren you were her Shmoe and to everyone else she loved, you were Sam or Sis. She was very loved and will be missed by many

Donna was predeceased in death by granddaughter Kaiti Coston, Son Charles (Bill) Beal, Husband Charles Beal, and her parents Leo and Marvel Lookhart. She is survived by her other 4 children Tim (Patricia), Dusty (Kristi), Daniel (Jenny, and Onita (Scott), 12 grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 50 W Main St, Lovell, WY 82431 on January 18th, at 10AM. Services will be provided by Haskell Funeral Home.
