Donna Nunn Obituary

Donna Mae Nunn was born on March 28, 1940 and passed away peacefully on May 26, 2021 surrounded by her family in her home north of Cowley, WY.

Donna was born in Miles City, MT to Alfred and Ellen Bankey, joining her older sister, Doris.  She grew up in Miles City, attending local elementary schools and graduating from Custer County High School in 1957.  She met her future husband, Gene Nunn, in 1958.  The couple was married on New Year’s Eve 1959.  To this union three sons were born:  Todd, Bobby, and Tom.  Donna worked a variety of clerical jobs starting in 1957 at Foster Drug in Miles City through secretary for BLM Wild Horse and Burro Program in Ridgecrest, CA.  In 2001, she and Gene retired to Cowley, WY.  Donna was very detail oriented in her work.  She was very devoted to her friends and family and will be dearly missed.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Bobby.  She is survived by her husband, Gene; sons Todd (Cathie) and Tom (Tami); grandchildren Kirsten, Dawson, Logan and Ryan; seven great-grandchildren and her beloved sister, Doris Thibault of Mott, ND; numerous nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

The family would like to thank the staff of North Big Horn Hospital, Stillwater Hospice and Haskell’s Funeral Home for their compassionate care and assistance through this difficult time.

Graveside services will be held on June 1, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Miles City, MT. Reception to follow at the VFW Hall, 119 North 6th Street.
