Edith Marie (Corfield) Tweddle

Edith Marie Corfield was born August 31, 1930, to William Corfield and Goldie Holland Corfield. She grew up in the depression era in Greybull, Wyoming. These were hard times for the adults, but the children did not fully realize the hardships of the economy of the time as they had their roller skates and old bicycles as well as their neighborhood friends to play with.

While going to high school Edith worked in the in the local drug stores and was an usher at the movie theater. She graduated from Greybull high school and married William (Bill) Tweddle. They resided in Greybull for four years and then relocated to Grass Creek, Wyoming. They spent ten adventurous years in Grass Creek. The Tweddle’s packed up their belongings, three children and moved with their house to Meeteetse, Wyoming. While living in Meeteetse the Tweddle’s welcomed another son. Later her husband was transferred to Basin, Wyoming area and they moved to Basin, Wyoming. Edith and Bill raised four children.

She spent time helping various organizations such as teaching Sunday School, working with the Brownies, Boy Scouts, homemaker clubs, and the PTA. She helped support the family by working several jobs, and her last position was serving with the U.S. Postal Service for ten years. She loved to garden and always had beautiful flowers each summer.

Edith and her husband also enjoyed traveling around the United States and would take their young children on many excursions expanding their education.

She is survived by her sons, Mike (June) and Chris (Sheri) and daughter Mary (Kirk) Miller as well as 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband Bill, Son Bill Jr., father, mother, stepfather, stepsister, sister, grandson Trey Tweddle, grandson Shawn Tweddle, great-granddaughter Christina.

She passed away peacefully on February 26, 2024.
