Edith May Leavitt Webb, daughter of Orville G. Leavitt and Ruth May Howe Leavitt, was born April 3, 1930, at the Basin Hospital, Big Horn County, Wyoming. She attended several different schools in the Beaver Creek and Bear Creek areas. She lived with her grandmother in Shell, Wyoming while attending high school in Greybull, Wyoming. She graduated from Northwest College in Powell.
Edith married Russell Elmer Webb, from Deaver, Wyoming on July 21, 1950, at her parents’ home near Shell, Wyoming. The couple had a son, William Leavitt Webb, and daughters Evelyn LaMott and Rusty Owen. Russell and Edith were married for 51 years.
Edith is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Ruth, her brother Orville Glen Leavitt Jr, granddaughter, Connie Fuller and husband Russell Webb.
Edith resided in several northwestern communities including South Pass, near Lander, and Basin. She lived at Bonnie Bluejacket Nursing Home, at her daughter and son-in-law’s home, Evelyn and Ken LaMott, as well as Wyoming Retirement Center. She passed away July 7, 2023, after 93 years of a wonderful life. Surviving are her children Bill (Carol) Webb, Evelyn (Ken) LaMott and Rusty Owen. There are 21 grandchildren, as well as several great grandchildren and some great great-grandchildren.
The funeral services for Edith are to be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, between Basin and Greybull on July 13, 2023, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow the service at the Whaley Cemetery near Shell, Wyoming (15 miles east of Greybull) and then back to the church for a luncheon.
