Jesse Rodriguez beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather was born in Lovell, Wyoming on July 30, 1932. Upon the death of his mother at only six months old, he was adopted by his Aunt & Uncle Secundino & Simona Rodriguez. Due to complications from several health-related issues that he had been battling for several years, Jesse passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones early Sunday morning, November 29, 2020.
He attended the Lovell school district until he was 14 years of age. This is the same time he got his first job. He worked on a farm for the Tippetts’ until enlisting in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955 and then served in the Wyoming National Guard from 1955 to 1961 Upon being discharged from the Navy he worked for Kameal Wambeke/Emil Fink Farms until he decided he wanted to try something new, so he took his family to California and worked for a landscaping service & an airplane parts company. After a year of the big city he decided that he missed his small-town home, so he made the decision to move his family back to Lovell Wyoming and started working for George Wambeke and Great Western Sugar during campaign. Upon the death of Mr. Wambeke he went to work at North Big Horn Hospital in the housekeeping and maintenance departments for 20+ years until he was forced to retire.
In 1956 he met the love of his life Paula Padilla and shortly after asked for her hand in marriage. When her parents did not consent, they both decided to just elope so off to Red Lodge, MT they went on Labor Day weekend to be married by the Justice of the Peace. He was always a loving and loyal husband that would walk her to work every morning and back home even on his days off.
Jesse’s favorite pastimes were spending time with his family, camping in the Big Horns, & gardening. He instilled in his children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren to always be proud of where they come from and to always hold their heads up high no matter what life brought their way. Family came first and he always put them above all else.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Secundino & Simona Rodriguez, brothers, Frank Ramirez & Donald Ramirez.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Paula Rodriguez, Daughter, Barbara Rodriguez, Son, Donald Rodriguez, Daughter-In-Law Aurora Rodriguez, Grandchildren, Amanda Rodriguez, Roxann Rodriguez Donna Rodriguez, & Junior Rodriguez, and also five Great-Grandchildren many nieces, nephews, and countless family members.
Due to Covid19 his memorial/military services will be postponed for a future date. Jesse lived a life that anyone would be proud of. One full of love, honor, good old fashion hard work, and above all else he lived for his family. His infectious laugh and undeniable sense of humor will forever by missed by everyone who knew him.
