Joshua Dannar Obituary

Joshua Chester Dannar passed from this earthly life on October 20, 2021, at the age of 43 in Billings, Montana

He was born on August 25, 1978, to Bruce and Sharon Dannar in Denver, Colorado.  He lived with his family in Commerce City, Colorado until 1983, when they all moved to Corinne, Utah.  There Josh attended both elementary and middle school.  He spent his days riding his bicycle and playing outside. He also loved to play baseball, and he was quite good at it.  He and his family enjoyed spending time in the mountains.  Every time his dad had a day off, that is where they went.  He especially liked to see the fall colors.  While in Utah, Josh and his family found a love for rendezvous, muzzleloaders, and anything to do with the mountain men.

In 1992, the Dannar family moved to Chadron, Nebraska so they could help take care of Josh’s grandmother.  During the summers, Josh continued to play baseball.  He also worked on the area farms. When he was a little older, he worked at a Chinese restaurant, where he found his love for cooking.  Josh graduated from Chadron High School in 1996 and continued to work. He was always a hard worker.

In August of 1996, his brother told him about this girl who had just started college, and that he needed to come to church to meet her.  The next Sunday, he met Suzie.  They shared a love for the outdoors and often went shooting or hunting together.  Josh taught Suzie how to shoot a muzzleloader.  Three years later, on October 19, 1999, they were married and sealed for time and eternity in the Idaho Falls temple. Over the next several years, Josh and Suzie relocated to several different towns in Wyoming, finally settling down in Suzie’s hometown of Lovell in 2013. During their 22 years of marriage, they were blessed with 5 sons.  Josh shared his talents with his boys.  He showed them how to have fun and taught them everything from baseball to hunting to making knives.  The boys and Suzie were the true joys of his life.

Josh loved cooking and being a truck driver, and those are the occupations he did for most of his married life.  When Josh’s back got too bad for him to drive truck for a while, he attended Casper College and earned his associate degree in Criminal Justice.  After graduating, he just couldn’t stay away from that truck, and he returned to driving.  His back and neck started giving him more trouble, so he went back to college and was very close to getting a 2nd degree in Construction Management.  Once again, he returned to truck driving, until he was no longer able to physically drive.  He spent the last 2 years of his life in constant pain, but he rarely let it stop him from helping his boys learn how to weld or make knives or to work on a vehicle.  He also did all he could for Suzie.  He served others whenever and in whatever way he could and would drop everything to help family.

Josh was preceded in death by his sister, Rachel Dannar, brother, Buck Dannar, mother, Sharon Dannar and nephew, Mason Keele.

He is survived by his wife Suzie and sons Seth, Andrew, Falcon, Xander, and Quentin.  He is also survived by his father, Bruce Dannar, siblings, Tammy (Shawn) Kuykendall, Mark (Jodi) Dannar, Seth (Andy) Dannar, Robert Dannar, Heather (Christopher) Pittman, and Zebulon (Amanda) Dannar, and sisters-in-law Lynette Dannar and Samantha (Donnie) Brinklow, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
