Kenneth Banks Obituary

Kenneth Dalton Banks was born April 3, 1932 in Cowley, Wyoming to Dee Asay Banks and Louise Dalton Banks. His childhood was spent growing up in Cowley and he graduated from Cowley High School in 1950. In 1953 he married Carol June Landes. They made their home in Cowley, Wyoming where they raised their family.

Ken was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved the people in his community and served them well. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings including 15 years in the Billings, Montana Temple.  He loved people and was always quick with a joke. He never met anyone he could not easily talk with. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping with his family, rock hunting, and breaking his own horses.

After graduating from high school, Kenneth went to work for Big Horn Canning Company. In 1956 he was made Assistant Superintendent of Plant Operations. In 1964 he left the employ of Big Horn Canning Company for a position as Maintenance Engineer at North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell, Wyoming. In 1984, a new hospital was built, and in 1985 he was appointed Director of Environmental Services. He worked in that capacity until his retirement. He was also a qualified EMT and had ambulance and other emergency medical experience in connection with his work.

Kenneth died on July 10, 2021, in Lovell, Wyoming. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Carol, his daughter, Cathleen May, his parents and sister, Barbara Partridge. He is survived by his sister, Glenna Cozzens, his children, Rick (Julie), Suzanne Winterholler (David), Michelle Reasch (Brent), Stephen (Chris), David (Michelle), son-in law Greg May, 25 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.
