Rita Fern Foster, 81, passed away peacefully at her home with her Son Steve and Granddaughter Amber by her side on January 10, 2022. Rita Was born in Hart TX to Hobson T. Sanders and Ilo Bell Sanders on May 31, 1940. Rita was the youngest of nine children.
In Rita’s day going to school was a treat for the children. Almost everyday they would get pulled from school to go pick cotton. When Rita left home, she married James Coleman and had three boys Jim, Lyndel, and Steve. The two went separate ways after their last child Steve was born.
Rita was a singer in a small band. This is where she met Charles H. Foster Jr and they married in 1971. Charles was a command sergeant major for the Army. Rita was a military spouse for 11 years. When Charles was stationed at Ft. Hood Rita took a banking job and stayed in Ft. Hood while her husband Charles was deployed. In 1982 Charles became a government meat inspector and Rita moved around with him for his job. Rita and Charles later separated.
In 2008 Rita moved to Lovell Wy to be close to her youngest son Steve and his children. Rita enjoyed being able to be at their sporting events cheering them on. Rita was loved by many and will forever be remembered for her spicy personality.
Rita is proceeded in death by her parents, son Lyndel, and all her siblings. Rita is survived by her oldest son Jim (Kelly) Coleman of Loveland Colorado, youngest son Steve Coleman of Lovell Wyoming, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday January 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at New Life Church in Powell Wyoming.
