Ronald Louis Knudsen, known affectionately as Ron or Ronnie, passed away on December 5, 2023, at the age of 81 in Loveland, Colorado. He was born on July 23, 1942, in Mesa, Arizona. Ron was a beloved music teacher for K-12 for 35 years, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of countless students. His dedication to education and passion for music made him a cherished figure wherever he worked.
As a youth, Ron served a mission in the North States Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Later in life, he and his wife, Betty Jean Cozzens-Knudsen, served a mission in Laredo, Texas. Ron's missionary spirit extended beyond formal missions, as he lived his entire life as a missionary to the world.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He was born the seventh of 8 children to William and Niona Knudsen. He was married to Betty Jean for 55 years and together they raised four children: Ronald Edwin Knudsen, Lawrence Dean Knudsen, Suzan Cathleen Knudsen-Johnson, and Michael Richard Knudsen. Ron was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 8 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased in death by his beloved wife Betty Jean, two sons, Ronald Edwin, and Lawrence Dean, as well as his granddaughters Nichole and Heather.
Ronald Knudsen's educational journey led him to Brigham Young University, where he furthered his knowledge and passion for music.
A graveside service will be held on May 18, 2024, at the Lovell Cemetery in Lovell, Wyoming. Following the service, there will be a gathering at a restaurant for those who attend, providing an opportunity to share memories and support one another during this difficult time.
Ron's kindness, dedication, and missionary spirit will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
