Scott Baxendale, 72, died April 10, 2025, the result of an accident on the Big Horn Mountains.
Scott was born to Gerald & Doris Baxendale on May 20, 1952, in Powell, Wyoming. He graduated from Lovell High School in 1970. Scott attended Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT on a football scholarship and played all 4 years, receiving a degree in Geology in 1974.
After graduating college, Scott traveled to Australia, something that he always wanted to do, where he worked on a cattle ranch in the Northern Territory for almost a year. Upon returning to Lovell, Scott worked various jobs that included building fences, farming, ranching, and working campaigns at the Sugar Factory. He was eventually hired full time at the factory and worked there until his retirement in May 2017. To stay busy after retirement, he was hired part time by the Town of Lovell in the Summer of 2018 where in tended to the rose gardens until his death.
Scott met Pat Gray in the summer of 1992. They married in December of 1996.
Scott is survived by his wife of 28 years, Pat; three stepchildren, John Gray (Kelly) of Goodyear, AZ; Jennifer Gray of Houston, TX; and Carrie Bischoff (Brian) of Lovell, WY; one sister, Julie Fisher of Worden, MT; three brothers, Brad Baxendale (Tami), Todd Baxendale (Robin), and Neil Baxendale (Jodi) all from Lovell. Seven step-grandchildren, Caleb & Tim Gray, Max & Savanah Asero, Cody & Kelly Broussard, Ezra Harlow, Luke & Elizabeth Bischoff. Also, his uncle Bill Baxendale (Kathy), two aunts, Phyllis Fringer and Phyrn Opp of Lovell, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Scott is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Baxendale, Doris Baxendale and one baby brother, Donald.
Per his wishes, there will be no funeral. A private gathering was held April 13, 2025.
