Vicki Jo Bangart Obituary

Vicki Jo (Steinmetz) Bangart, 69, passed into the arms of Jesus on
Sunday, January 19, 2025, surrounded by her four loving daughters in
Lovell, Wyoming, after a brief and fearless battle against leukemia.

She was born on November 12, 1955, in Billings, Montana, to Arthur and
Betty Steinmentz.  She grew up on the family farm in Silesia with her
three siblings Steve, Paul, and Trisha.  After graduating from Joliet
High School in 1974, she went on to cosmetology school and eventually
opened her own beauty shop in Joliet where she operated a successful
business until her battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma no longer allowed
her to continue working.  During her time in the Joliet community, she
attended the Joliet Lutheran Church, and you could always find her
volunteering countless hours. Vicki had a talent for painting ceramics and pictures. Some of these items her daughters have and will cherish the memories those pieces hold in their hearts forever.

Vicki married Rocky Bangart on May 31, 1974. With this union, four
daughters were born: Dana, Christie, Catherine, and Jessica. Later on,
they were legally separated.

Vicki will be remembered for always taking care of others before
herself, giving help to those who were in need, and offering advice to
those who were struggling in their life. Her biggest joy was her four
daughters and she never missed one of their games or events no matter
how far she had to drive. All of her daughter's friends considered her
a second mother, and all of the school kids loved to come to the
"Bangart house" to hang out and eat a warm cooked meal. It was not
uncommon to wake up on a Saturday morning and the living room floor
was full of kids who stayed over because they felt safe and cared for.
Vicki taught her daughters the importance of getting an education and
making sure they all went to college following high school. The second
greatest joy in her life were her eight grandchildren: Lane, Caylee,
Victoria, Kasen, Kanyon, Kage, Holt, and Maddie. Her four daughters
will make sure that her grandchildren continue to know what a
wonderful person she was and that she is still watching and guiding us
from heaven. A mother's bond with her children (and grandchildren) can
never be broken.

Cancer cannot cripple love, shatter hope, kill friendship, erode the
spirit, take away faith, silence courage, destroy peace, suppress
memories, steal eternal life or conquer the soul. Cancer is a word not
a sentence.

Vicki is preceded in death by her father, Arthur Steinmetz. She is
survived by her mother, Betty Steinmetz; children, Dana (Dan) Bangart,
Christie (Kraig) Krook, Catherine (Todd) Herman, and Jessica (Ross)
Schwend and her eight grandchildren.  Vicki is also survived by her
siblings; Steve (Brenda) Steinmetz, Trisha (Doug) Hedges, and Paul
(Gail) Steinmetz. Vicki will also be missed by numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mom, we will miss your sense of humor, contagious laugh, text
messages, and phone calls.  Thank you for teaching us the importance
of family, how to be kind, the true meaning of unconditional love, and
how to truly have a get together. We will rest in the knowledge that
we will one day see you again!

Services will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., at the
Wesleyan Church in Joliet, Montana. Dinner to follow the service at the
Joliet Community Center. Burial will take place at a later date in the
Rockvale Cemetery.
